Wrestling Rule Changes for 2006-2007

The following rules have been added for this season. I have taken the liberty of listing them in "capsule form"for greater understanding.

1-3-1 Each state must have a weight-management program.

3-2-2f When a referee and assistant confer, it must be away from scorer's table.

4-1-1c A single color garment can be worn under the singlet, but not extend below the knee.

4-4-4 The 275# class is now 285#.

5-11-2f-i Awarding additional nearfall points for acts by the defensive wrestler is clarified.

5-18-2 The match 'officially' begins when wrestlers report to table.

6-2-2 A wrestler reporting to the table to wrestle cannot be withdrawn or replaced.

6-6-4a1 Errors should be corrected before start of next period.

6-7-1 Overtime is now 1 min., 30 sec., 30 sec, and if needed, 30 seconds.

7-1-5 Hands to the face/eyes is illegal.

8-1-2c Match will not be stopped to penalize offensive wrestler in standing position.
